Health Catalyst Named to the Shatter List for Sixth Year in a Row

The skies are the limit! For the sixth year in a row, Health Catalyst has been recognized for its efforts to advance women in the technology industry.

As part of their celebration of Women’s History Month, Women Tech Council named Health Catalyst to the Shatter List, the council’s list of technology companies with active programs leading and accelerating progress toward breaking the glass ceiling for women in the industry.

Health Catalyst is committed to supporting women among our staff and women pursuing a career in STEM. Efforts include the creation of an employee resource group (ERG), Women Empowered (WE) in 2018 and taking the ParityPledge, a corporate commitment to interview and consider at least one qualified woman for every open leadership role.

In addition, Health Catalyst appointed Trudy Sullivan, the company’s first Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer, in 2019 to lead the diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy for the company.

Health Catalyst also created the “Women in Engineering” scholarship. This scholarship provides tuition and housing to young women in DevMountain’s immersive Software QA or Web Development program. To date, the scholarship has provided financial support to four students, three of whom are now Health Catalyst team members.

“We are honored to be recognized by the Women Tech Council for our work,” said Linda Llewelyn, Chief People Officer at Health Catalyst. “We committed years ago to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace where every team member can thrive. And while we’ve seen improved gender diversity at the leadership level and achieved high female team member engagement, we will continue to look for new ways to bridge the gender gap, seek opportunities to improve our team members’ experience, and celebrate the many talented women who help drive healthcare improvement.”

This is the third recognition Health Catalyst has received in 2023 for its efforts to support women in tech. Earlier this year, Inspire In Utah named Health Catalyst one of the 100 Companies Championing Women in Utah, and Newsweek named Health Catalyst one of America’s Best Workplaces for Women in 2023.

The Shatter List is compiled by scoring companies on four factors critical to building inclusive cultures with meaningful measures that help women break and surpass the glass ceiling in technology.

  • Executive engagement (active support from the CEO, executive team, and all leadership)
  • Company programming (currently has women in leadership executive positions and proactively implements programs to support women in technology)
  • Community investment (active participation with the broader community to learn from and share best practices regarding culture and inclusion)
  • Women’s or D&I group (formal programs to support women internally.
