The Health Catalyst Embedded Refills™ product provides medication-renewal decision support within the existing EHR workflow, helping providers and staff manage prescription renewals more efficiently. By combining technology, maintained clinical protocols, and workflow optimization, Embedded Refills supports a safer, more consistent patient experience.

When a renewal request is received, Embedded Refills reviews relevant information from the patient’s chart and evaluates it against the appropriate criteria from more than 300 configurable, evidence-based protocols covering over 1,000 medications. The application then summarizes the supporting clinical information and recommends the appropriate next action, such as completing the renewal, following up with the patient to address a care gap, or routing the request for provider review.
