Long before the government made the concepts of value-based care and population health management a must, Allina Health CEO Penny Wheeler, MD, as working on it – and documenting positive results.
Today, the 13-hospital health system, headquartered in the heart of the City of Lakes, has boosted quality care – as measured by outcomes – across several service lines. This past year alone Allina’s laser focus on eliminating variation in care adn to effect better results, alond with implementing operational efficiencies, has reaped $100 million in savings.
