Jim Adams, Executive Director at The Advisory Board, will speak at the 2014 Healthcare Analytics Summit.

We are pleased to announce that Jim Adams, Executive Director with The Advisory Board, will join us as a key speaker at the Healthcare Analytics Summit 2014.

In our initial analytics participant survey, one of the most requested topics was an overview of the healthcare analytics market by a neutral, third-party analyst. We described the session as “a senior market analyst will give an unbiased, third-party overview of the healthcare analytics market including market forces driving change and usage, the role of analytics in population health and ACOs, payer/patient data and analytics, the evolution of costing data, future recommendations, and vendor rankings”.

We are thrilled to announce Jim as the leader of the healthcare analytics market overview session. We feel like he fits the description exactly. We have always admired the insight and credibility that The Advisory Board brings to the healthcare market, with Jim leading the way.

Jim leads the Health Care IT Suite for The Advisory Board Company. His areas of expertise include business strategic planning and implementation; executive and board communication strategies; IT-enabled accountable care and population health management; IT strategic planning and implementation; IT value assessments; and business intelligence and analytics strategies.

Working with the IT Strategy Council, Jim focuses on the intersection of business, IT, and strategy. He serves on national committees and advisory boards for health care organizations and is a frequent speaker on strategic health care and health IT topics, including the future of health care, health information technology, accountable care, and related topics.

Before joining The Advisory Board Company, Jim was executive director of IBM’s Center for Health Care Management, which focused on global thought leadership for health care. Prior to joining IBM through an acquisition, Jim was a senior leader at Healthlink and Gartner, and he has C-suite experience in a multiple industries. He is a frequent speaker on strategic health care and health care IT topics.

On a more personal note, when Jim confirmed his participation, I reached out to inform Dale Sanders, one of our executive leaders in Health Catalyst, and a long time healthcare veteran and multiple-time CIO. Dale has previously worked with the Advisory Board and has often shared high praise for Jim and his work. Dale offered the following insight:

“Jim Adams is one of the most valuable and knowledgeable veterans of the healthcare industry. His selfless mentorship and circle of influence are almost certainly numbered in the thousands of people who have benefited. He mixes common sense with enormous intellectual capacity and unique insights, and he pulls it all together with a humble and a deeply values-based personality. In addition to his leadership positions at the Advisory Board, IBM’s Center for Healthcare Management, and Gartner, he’s been in the trenches as a C-level executive in a number of industries, creating an incredibly balanced combination of skills. I’m deeply honored to have worked with him, indebted to his wisdom and mentorship, and grateful to call him a friend.”

We, too, are grateful to have his participation.

If you haven’t registered for the Healthcare Analytics Summit 2014 yet, we are running way ahead of expectations. So, if you would like to join us, please register earlier, rather than later, in case we have a shortage situation.

See you in Salt Lake at HAS 14, September 24-25!
